Hosting can be a battlefield of food allergies, dietary restrictions, music selections and entertainment choices (do you pull out Cards Against Humanity or The Resistance?!). While I can’t help you come up with witty and enchanting dinner banter, I can help point you in the direction of some vegan options that you and your guests will enjoy.
I like to ask about food allergies or dietary restrictions ahead of time and then plan the majority (if not all) of my food to meet the requirements of my guest with the strictest diet.
It’s easier than making multiple recipes AND, selfishly, if I’m making food that meets super strict dietary requirements and eating it myself, well, you can guarantee I’ll make sure it’s delicious.
“So, if they’re vegan can I just make a salad and call it a day?” Ummmm, do you still want friends? I’m joking! While I do enjoy a good salad, I like to share a hearty healthy meal with friends and a salad just doesn’t seem to measure up. To help you out, I’ve come up with a curated list of delicious, easy recipes from talented chefs to share with you. Most of these recipes have simple ingredients that can be modified to accommodate allergies and many are soy and/or gluten-free.
